I tend to get a bit self-conscious about showing off the digital stuff I make during conference presentations. Mostly because when I do show something I’m doing it not to show off the digital tool, but to make an illustrative point about the larger topic of my paper. Yet because the digital whatever is something new and different it tends to overshadow the more substantive points about literature, history, and culture I’m trying to make.
